Operations Work Leader 2nd Shift

The purpose of this position is to lead night operations, working with supervisors to ensure timely processing of orders, provide training, and identify process improvements.

Essential Functions

This full-time hourly position supports the 2nd shift, working Sunday-Thursday, with additional hours during peak seasons.

Picking

• Work with pickers to improve accuracy and minimize errors.
• Ensure proper product rotation procedures are followed.
• Monitor pick tickets for on-time departures.
• Manage daily volume and adjust staffing accordingly.
• Coordinate with Central Desk to fulfill orders.

Packing

• Oversee daily packing volumes and staffing.
• Coordinate with S&CR for order fulfillment.
• Ensure proper packing procedures to prevent damage.

Replenishing

• Manage replenishment and unboxing of botanical products.
• Conduct sweeps to identify misplaced products.

Checking

• Oversee final product checks before packing.
• Eliminate damaged or returned products.

Material Handling

• Manage staff for scanning, sorting, and palletizing.
• Ensure accuracy and continuous conveyor operation.
• Audit pallets for errors before loading.

Work Environment

Warehouse, greenhouse, and cooler environments (34°F). Use of warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, RF scanners, and cutters.

Physical Demands

Active role involving standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and using scanning devices. Visual acuity for various vision tasks is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years warehouse experience, with 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Apprise.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
• Experience with fresh flowers or perishables is preferred.
