Job summary

Phillips Medisize is seeking an Operations Technology Specialist to guide the technical direction of MES/SCADA solutions across manufacturing facilities. You will collaborate with digital architects, production leads, and engineers to deliver scalable, reliable digital manufacturing applications that empower frontline workers with the right data and tools.

You will lead with hands-on guidance, drive governance and architecture alignment, and accelerate development using GenAI.

Qualifications

  • CS/IS degree or 3+ years of relevant database development/support experience.
  • Experience leading design discussions and influencing architectural decisions.
  • Experience with application development and database environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design from the site and partner with architecture to implement scalable applications.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance and mentorship to engineering peers.
  • Define requirements with stakeholders and coordinate execution across multiple workstreams/sites.
  • Partner with platform owners, digital/IT, and quality teams to implement governance and handle escalated exceptions.
  • Leverage GenAI technologies to accelerate solution development and improve engineering efficiency.
  • Drive software quality and maintainability through reviews, standards enforcement, and risk management.
  • Ensure adherence to governance and architecture standards across digital manufacturing.
  • Lead knowledge-sharing sessions across regional and global facilities.

Job description

Are you ready to shape the future of manufacturing through modern, intuitive, high performance digital solutions? As the Operations Technology Specialist you will guide the technical direction of solutions that empower frontline workers with the right data and tools—when and where they need them.

In this role, you will engage with digital architects to build and support applications used across our manufacturing facilities, enabling people to work smarter, faster, and safer to produce quality products. You’ll partner closely with operations, engineering, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable, and innovative solutions that have real world impact.

Our Team

You will oversee a portfolio of software-based MES and SCADA systems, ensuring they are intuitive, scalable, and aligned with Phillips Medisize’s Digital Manufacturing strategy. In this role, you will guide site resources including production leads, engineers, and stakeholders to drive digital based manufacturing solutions to deliver meaningful business outcomes and enhance the frontline user experience.

You will collaborate closely with operations leaders, capability partners, and other technology teams to ensure solutions integrate effectively with core systems, follow enterprise architecture standards, and support Phillips Medisize’s long-term digital roadmap.

What You Will Do
  • Lead the technical design from the site and partner with the architecture team to implement applications, driving scalable patterns and reusable components.
  • Provide hands on technical guidance and mentorship to engineering peers, promoting modern best practices and engineering and operational excellence.
  • Partner with digital team owners, operational excellence and stakeholders to define requirements, shape technical direction, and coordinate execution across multiple workstreams and sites.
  • Partner with platform owners, digital/IT, and quality teams to implement governance expectations and escalated exceptions as needed
  • Leverage GenAI technologies to accelerate solution development and improve engineering efficiency.
  • Drive software quality and technical excellence through code reviews, standards enforcement, proactive risk management, and governance oversight, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, compliant, and aligned with defined AQP validation requirements that support business and operational objectives
  • Ensure all solutions adhere to established governance, architecture standards, and digital manufacturing guidelines
  • Participate and lead knowledge sharing sessions to enable continuous learning across regional and global facilities.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Computer Science / information systems Engineering degree OR 3-years’ worth of applicable database development and support experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading through influence in a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience supporting and maintaining business critical production applications
  • Experience leading technical design discussions and influencing architectural decisions
  • Experience with application development and system database environments
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience in developing and supporting MES and SCADA solutions
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Experience working within defined governance frameworks, including standards for development, deployment, validation, and change management
  • Experience designing, developing, and supporting user-facing mobile applications with a focus on performance, usability, and scalability
