Responsibilities

  • Support design, implementation, optimization, and validation of manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality and suppliers to improve performance.
  • Participate in NPI activities and develop manufacturing processes for new products.
  • Research and implement automation technologies to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Plan layouts to optimize capacity and workflow; analyze data to identify improvements.
  • Assist with FMEAs, FAT/SAT, and equipment validation to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Create and maintain work instructions, setup procedures, calibration methods, and process standards.
  • Lead engineering projects meeting customer requirements, timelines, and cost targets.

Our Phillips, Wisconsin location is seeking a motivated and highly Experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our organization. This position will support manufacturing in the effort to ensure optimum engineering, quality, and safety of projects/programs to meet customer, production, and regulatory requirements.

What You Will Do

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will support the design, implementation, optimization, and validation of manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems to drive operational excellence, quality, safety, and productivity. This role partners closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and external suppliers to improve manufacturing performance and support new product introductions.

  • Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) activities by developing and implementing manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems that support successful product launches.
  • Research, evaluate, and implement automation technologies and manufacturing solutions to maximize production efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Plan and optimize equipment and facility layouts to improve workflow, capacity, and operational effectiveness.
  • Analyze production data, process metrics, and quality performance to identify improvement opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support Production and Maintenance teams by troubleshooting manufacturing processes and equipment issues while implementing sustainable corrective actions.
  • Evaluate existing equipment, software, and manufacturing technologies to identify obsolescence risks and recommend proactive replacement or upgrade strategies.
  • Understand, recommend, and justify spare parts requirements to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct process risk assessments, including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), to improve process capability and reduce risk.
  • Develop, review, and provide feedback on User Requirement Specifications (URS) and automation system designs for custom-built manufacturing equipment.
  • Participate in equipment design reviews with external suppliers and provide technical input to ensure designs meet manufacturing, quality, and business requirements.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities to verify equipment performance prior to and following installation.
  • Assist with process development, equipment validation, and qualification activities to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, equipment setup procedures, calibration methods, preventive maintenance procedures, and process standards.
  • Implement machine software, electrical, mechanical, and process changes associated with equipment development and continuous improvement projects.
  • Facilitate effective communication between customers, suppliers, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, Maintenance, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Coordinate and lead engineering projects to ensure customer requirements, manufacturing objectives, timelines, quality standards, and cost targets are achieved.
  • Support cost control and profitability initiatives through collaboration with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Customer Service teams.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes, equipment, and documentation comply with all applicable company policies, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and government regulations.
  • Build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization and provide technical guidance and training to production personnel as needed.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering OR relative job experience in an Engineering position
  • 1 plus years of working experience in a Manufacturing Engineer role
  • Experience with troubleshooting complex automation equipment
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience in using CAD (SolidWorks) to determine if tooling, equipment, and part designs meet requirements.
  • Experience in using CAD (SolidWorks) to design for manufacture fixtures and equipment
  • Experience in managing multiple large-scale projects
  • Experience in accurate quote design, tools/equipment, and parts
  • Experience in developing / working through continuous improvement plans (CIP)
  • Experience in project management in the manufacturing environment
  • Experience with plastic injection molding peripheral equipment design and setup
  • Experience with vision inspection camera setup and software (Cognex, Keyence)
  • Experience with SAP

Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and integration in a manufacturing environment.
