Superior Metals Manufacturing (SMM) is hiring for an Entry Level Associate to support daily production in a fast-paced, safety-driven environment at our new Chittenango, NY facility.

This role offers hands-on training from day one, with day and 3rd shift options and a $3/hr shift differential on the 3rd shift. Eligible for quarterly bonus, sign-on bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k) and life insurance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to learn industrial equipment.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and safety procedures.
• Basic math skills for weighing and measuring.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• On-site in Chittenango, NY; overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, clean, sort, resize, and weigh recycled metals (revert) for the melting process.
• Operate basic equipment (grinders, analyzers, cut-off saws) after training.
• Record weights, batch data, and traceability information.
• Organize, stage, label, and prepare materials for furnace charging.
• Assist furnace operators by delivering charge materials safely.
• Safely operate cranes, hoists, and forklifts (training provided).
• Follow SOPs, work instructions, and safety requirements.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and support 5S standards.
• Communicate effectively to support production flow and problem-solving.

Job Summary

This role supports daily production in a fast-paced, safety-driven environment.
