Job summary

Superior Metals Manufacturing (SMM) is seeking entry-level personnel for aerospace alloy manufacturing roles at our brand-new, state-of-the-art facility in Chittenango, NY. This role starts on the night shift and includes a $3/hr differential with potential for growth and training.

The position involves supporting daily production, handling revert metals, and assisting furnace operations. Training is provided, with a $1,000 sign-on bonus and quarterly bonuses available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to learn industrial equipment.
• Ability to read/follow written instructions and safety procedures.
• Basic math skills for weighing and measuring.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.
• Basic Computer skills are needed.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Ability to work overtime and work on-site in Chittenango, NY.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, clean, sort, resize, and weigh recycled metals “revert” to prepare for the melting process.
• Operate basic equipment (grinders, analyzers, cut-off saws) after training.
• Record weights, batch data, and traceability information.
• Organize, stage, label, and prepare materials for furnace charging.
• Assist furnace operators by safely delivering charge materials.
• Safely operate cranes, hoists, and forklifts (training provided).
• Follow SOPs, work instructions, and safety requirements.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and support 5S standards.
• Communicate effectively to support production flow and problem-solving.

Job Summary
