  • Level 1: Estimated hourly base pay: $18.73 (minimum) - $23.41 (midpoint) - $28.09 (maximum)

  • Level 2: Estimated hourly base pay: $20.92 (minimum) - $26.15 (midpoint) - $31.38 (maximum)

  • All members included in annual cash bonus opportunity.

Woodward in Loves Park, IL is hiring for a 1st shift Operations Technician to support brazing operations at our Loves Park Campus. This individual will be responsible for performing operations and quality inspections on aerospace components and parts. Apply now!

What You Will Be Doing

  • Operating induction braze machines by reading and using work instructions to produce and manufacture armatures

  • Strengthening and inspecting parts using manual lathe operations and processes

  • Using heat treat and brazing operations to assembly and test armatures

  • Testing armatures to ensure the strength of the braze joints meets customer and company specifications

  • Performing inspection checks using equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges and optical comparators.

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, work instructions and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to verify tolerances and specifications

  • Using various computer programs including Microsoft and company systems to document findings, operations and any non-conformances.

  • Moderate physical activity requiring agility and dexterity, including walking, standing, or bending; and lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds. Note: Some product lines have heavier lifting requirements due to product type.

  • Ability to stand for entire shift. Work is performed in an area with moderate risk or discomfort that may require special safety precautions, such as wearing protective clothing or gear.

  • May be required to pass Near vision and/or Color vision examinations


What We Are Looking For
Level 1:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required

Level 2:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required

  • 1 year of applicable brazing experience is highly desired
