Job summary

Eight Eleven Group is seeking a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) for an on-site role in Northern Virginia. The position is a 6-month contract-to-hire with a schedule featuring long shifts and a daily lunch break, supporting critical data center infrastructure and uptime.

Responsibilities include managing technicians and vendors, setting benchmarks, reporting, and ensuring safe, reliable operation of power and cooling systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of technical trade or certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Technical troubleshooting and ability to read technical diagrams.

Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) - On-Site

Location: Northern, VA

6-month contract-to-hire

Schedule: (12.5 hrs: 5:30 AM/PM - 6:00 PM/AM, 1 hr lunch), 3 on/4 off

Compensation: $25-35/hr DOE

About the Role

The Data Center Technical Operations Engineer will be responsible for Data Center Engineering Operations within an Amazon Data Center. This includes risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management, and metric reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage shift technicians, subcontractors, and vendors according to procedures

Basic Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• 0-2 years of Data Center Engineering or Management experience
