Job summary

Air Products in La Porte, TX is hiring an Operations Technician for our ASU and Liquid Hydrogen facility. You will monitor plant operations, calibrate analyzers, troubleshoot equipment, and follow strict safety and process control procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent; a Process Technology certificate or degree is a plus, with willingness to rotate shifts and work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; process tech cert/degree a plus.
• Experience with process controls, DCS systems, and instrumentation is preferred.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends.
• Ability to read piping & instrumentation diagrams is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow site work instruction manuals and safety procedures.
• Maintain electronic logbook of operation activities.
• Diagnose and resolve plant upset conditions using DCS trends.
• Calibrate and operate analyzers; perform preventative maintenance.
• Issue safety permits and perform lockout/tagout of equipment.
• Keep work areas safe, clean and orderly; participate in safety meetings.

The ASU facility is an integral part of Air Product’s Gulf Coast O2 and N2 pipeline networks and produces LIN, LOX and LAR which are transported to our merchant customers. Keep work and supply areas in a safe, clean and orderly condition.* Participate in safety meetings and ensure that all plant safety, environmental, and quality procedures are followed.***Qualifications / Requirements:**** High school diploma or equivalent experience.* Process Technology certificate or degree a plus.* Basic computer proficiency and software knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.* Electrical, instrument or mechanical maintenance experience a plus.* Ability to read/understand piping and instrumentation drawings a plus.* Experience with personal computers and/or DCS systems.* Willingness to work shifts rotating from days to nights and available to work holidays and weekends.* Desire and ability to work in a team environment.* Valid and clean driver’s license.***Physical Requirements:**** Climb ladders and steps and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.* Meet call-in requirements as needed.* Work in all weather conditions and elevated work required.
