Job summary

AgState is currently seeking an Operations Technician in Alta, IA. The role involves supporting elevator operations, receiving, drying, blending, and loading grain, and maintaining grain conditions while working under the Location Leader.

You will join a team dedicated to safety and excellent customer service and a stable career. This position offers opportunities to grow in agriculture operations with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement, medical, life insurance, and time off

Qualifications

• One year of related experience and/or education preferred, but not required.
• Valid state driver's license is required.
• Ability to obtain CDL or pesticide/handler licenses as applicable.
• Safety‑minded with attention to maintenance and housekeeping.

Responsibilities

• Support the elevator operations.
• Receive, dry, blend, and load grain.
• Measure grain inventory as needed.
• Prepare grain rail cars and load cars according to specifications.
• Maintain grain conditions.
• Support all aspects of Agronomy Operations.
• Manage ag chemicals and fertilizer.
• Understand chemical rates, uses, and restrictions.
• Operate Fertilizer mix plant – dry & liquid.
• Manage chemical warehouse & lead agronomy inventory.
• Perform equipment and facility maintenance including housekeeping and daily checks.
• Assist other locations, as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

You Have:

• Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.
• Have a valid or the ability to obtains a Class A CDL, Commercial applicator license and/or Handler’s license.
• Ability to work overtime as required. Consideration may be given to accommodate special scheduling needs.
