Job summary

Bluebird Kids Health in Palm Beach, FL is seeking an Operations Team Lead for the CARES Center. This on-site role reports to the CARES Center Operations Manager and combines hands-on patient access support with leadership responsibilities to ensure high-quality interactions and operational excellence.

You’ll supervise and train team members, monitor performance dashboards, coordinate care workflows, and support compliance with Florida AHCA and CMS eligibility rules for pediatric care.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in a medical office or healthcare contact center.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in family engagement and patient advocacy, particularly in pediatric or complex care settings.
• Knowledge of Florida Medicaid/AHCA and CMS eligibility requirements (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Approximately 70% of time will be dedicated to direct operational support activities, including patient access functions, buckets, inbound and outbound patient communications, outreach hatch support, medical records support, insurance verification, and support across designated CARES Center platforms and systems.
• Approximately 30% of time will be dedicated to team lead responsibilities, including providing escalation support for complex insurance and appointment concerns, assisting with onboarding and training of new team members, supporting training and implementation of new workflows and process changes, pulling operational reports, monitoring, providing real-time team support, and assisting with department administrative needs such as supply ordering.
• Maintains the flexibility to shift between operational and leadership responsibilities based on business needs, staffing levels, and patient demand.
