Job Description:

Seeking an experienced Operations System Engineer to collaborate with system users, requirements owners, and contractors. The role involves translating operational requirements into software requirements, designs, and implementations, supporting planning and execution with defense contractors to ensure 24/7 uptime of the operational platform.

Capabilities of the Operations System Engineer Acquisition Based Operations Coordinator include:
  1. Participating in planning, coordinating, scheduling, directing, and controlling engineering and technical support activities related to network operations, program management, risk management, and software integration on various platforms.
  2. Developing and executing software and system test strategies.
  3. Reviewing contractor performance, schedules, plans, and estimates to ensure alignment with stakeholder requirements.
  4. Supporting government oversight of contractor activities in an agile development environment, including scrum activities and providing recommendations on development, testing, automation tools, requirements prioritization, and system delivery.
  5. Providing multi-disciplinary solutions for technical problems.
  6. Applying critical thinking and collaborative problem solving to mitigate risks.
  7. Generating and briefing products to communicate information to stakeholders.
Requirements: MUST HAVE
  • Experience assisting the government with technical oversight of vendor IT efforts.
  • Experience with commercial hardware (Dell servers, NetApp storage, Cisco networking).
  • Experience with virtualized environments (VMs, VMWare).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Git, Gitlab, Nexus, Jenkins).
  • Excellent communication skills for delivering briefings to senior leaders.
  • Ability to recommend business process improvements related to technology.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with RMF and security assessment tools (Fortify, SonarQube, ACAS).
  • Experience with DevSecOps.
  • Experience managing software deployment via VMWare across geographically dispersed end-users.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming, SAFe).
  • Experience developing Web services software.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; four additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Travel up to 25%.
  • 5+ years in Information Systems Management, Cyber/Network Operations, or Military Operations coordination.
  • 2+ years in cyber, IT, or C4ISR systems.
