  • Improve after-hours communications and messaging across teams.
  • Create daily and monthly reliability and curtailment reports; collect data for KPI.
  • Assist commissioning and outages, and support shift coverage at plants.

## Operations System ControllerApply: San Antonio, Texas: Posted Yesterday: End Date: September 16, 2026 (5 days left to apply): 00024053# **An exciting career awaits you**At MPC, we’re committed to being a great place to work – one that welcomes new ideas, encourages diverse perspectives, develops our people, and fosters a collaborative team environment.**POSITION SUMMARY:**Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the monitoring of gas inlet and residue nominations by using knowledge of the system to keep customers on nominations while also keeping field system pressures optimal by directing plants on how to allocate flows.**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Manage inlet curtailment communication process during upset events or when plants are at reduced capacities.* Improve customer satisfaction and confidence by always having a knowledgeable and up to speed point of contact on a 24/7 basis.* Primary point of contact for customers, Business Development, Marketing, Measurement, Pipeline, and Reliability while also bridging the gap between these channels and disseminating the information to the plant supervisors.* Daily safe operations of the field gas compression, inlet gas pipelines monitoring equipment and processing facilities, from the remote-control room.* Streamline communication process – understanding of appropriate message, more consistent messaging, building trust, etc. Improve system operations and communication after hours and weekends (single point of contact requested by Business Development/Scheduling)* Enhanced continuous monitoring of producer incoming gas quality (implementing alarming, proactive action, proceduralize) on a 24/7 basis.* Assist operators in optimizing plant efficiency and recoveries.* Assist in managing producer imbalances and residue pipeline OBA’s (Operational Balance Agreements) on a 24/7 basis.* Assist plants with troubleshooting, recover from process upsets and/or shutdowns either over the phone, or monitoring/running the plant remotely.* Train and educate operators on responses to abnormal conditions.* Create and send daily and monthly reports, curtailment notices, PLA events,* Collect and true-up reliability data for daily/monthly/quarterly reports.* Support engineering team and project teams with process parameters and current conditions.* Able to support commissioning efforts involving loop checks, valve tuning, etc. for new plants and during planned outages.* Covers shifts at the plants whenever requested. Able to assume plant-specific Board Operator duties remotely during times of need (employee illness/call-offs, abnormal operating conditions, emergency support).**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:*** High school diploma or GED required* Valid driver’s license required* Must be able to pass drug test and background check* Must be able to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays* Prior Board Operator experience preferred, prefer a minimum of 5 years**SKILLS:*** Operation & Control: Develops understanding of how process controls and automation are used to operate equipment in process plant.* Operation Monitoring: Develops ability to watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.* Systems Analysis: Develops ability to determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.* Communication: Develops ability to communicate effectively verbally and non-verbally; writes as appropriate for audience needs and conveys information effectively and professionally to others.* Safety: Applies in difficult or complex situation’s ability to recognize safety risks in operational activities and use appropriate measures to control and manage identified risks.* Safety Awareness: Ability to recognize and identify potential hazards.
