Job summary

Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) is seeking an Operations Support Intern to join the Security and Facilities team at our Arlington, VA or Mt. Laurel, NJ location.

This paid, on-site internship focuses on inventory control, procurement processes, documentation management, and general administrative support to keep the office running smoothly. You will gain hands-on experience across departments, learn security procedures, and participate in process improvements while supporting onboarding

Qualifications

• Enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate degree program in a related field.
• Junior or rising senior status preferred.

About The Role:

Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), a leading defense technology company, is seeking a Operations Support Intern to be part of our Security and Facilities team and based out of our Arlington, VA or Mt. Laurel, NJ location.

The Operations Support Intern work alongside our department teams supporting inventory control, equipment and material movement, office administration, procurement process and documentation management. The intern will learn about Operations Support and how it impacts the business.

Clearance & Location Requirements:

All applicants must be able to obtain/maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

This is a fully on-site position based out of our Arlington, VA or Mt. Laurel, NJ location.

What You Will Do:

• Supports day-to-day office operations and administrative tasks to ensure the office runs smoothly
• Assists with scheduling meetings, coordinating calendars, and preparing meeting materials
• Involved with office supply inventory, ordering, and organization.
• Assists with coordinating team events, meetings/demos
• Provides general administrative support across teams and responds to requests
• Helps manage incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and office communications
• Welcomes and assists visitors, customers, and guests in a professional and friendly manner
• Supports onboarding logistics for new employees, including preparing workspaces and materials
• Maintains a clean, organized, and welcoming office environment
• Assists with special projects and process improvements to enhance office efficiency.
• Assists with employee and visitor badging, ensuring proper access and adherence to office security procedures.
• Monitors office supply inventory, tracks usage, and places orders to maintaining stock levels.
• Coordinates and escorts vendors onsite, ensuring appropriate access and directed to the correct areas.

Who You Are (Required):

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree program with a major in Business Management, Engineering, Cyber Security or related field
• Current college juniors/rising seniors preferred.

Pay Range* : $28 - $34 / Hour

This amount may not be reflective of actual compensation that may be earned as pay is dependent on a candidate's experience, skills, and education. The posted range does not include bonuses, commissions, tips, or other benefits. IDT is often looking to place multiple candidates at various levels. Therefore, more than one pay range has been included, commensurate with experience.
