Job summary

Simplot, located in Colorado, is seeking an Operations Support 3 (DOT Driver) to safely transport fertilizer and agricultural inputs to customer locations and support agronomy operations in outdoor settings.

You will operate semi-trucks and trailers, blend products, perform equipment setup, and ensure deliveries meet safety and quality standards while building strong relationships with growers and customers.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A CDL and HazMat/Tanker endorsements.
• Willingness to work seasonal agriculture hours (early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle manual tasks.
• Experience in agriculture, transportation, or related industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport fertilizer, crop protection products, and other inputs to customer locations.
• Provide professional, reliable service and build strong grower/customer relationships.
• Ensure deliveries are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule.
• Blend fertilizer products and support application activities (equipment setup, calibration, monitoring).
• Operate trucks/trailers and maintain equipment, facilities, and cleanliness.
• Follow DOT, OSHA, HazMat safety rules and participate in training and safety culture.
• Support special projects and cross-location teamwork.

What You'll Do

Product Delivery & Customer Support

• Safely transport fertilizer, crop protection products, and other agricultural inputs to customer locations.
• Provide professional, reliable service while building strong relationships with growers and customers.
• Ensure deliveries are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule.

Agronomy Operations

• Blend fertilizer products according to customer specifications and quality standards.
• Support product application activities, including equipment setup, calibration, and monitoring application rates.
• Load, receive, unload, and store products while maintaining inventory accuracy.

Equipment & Facility Operations

• Operate agricultural equipment, application equipment, semi‑trucks, and trailers safely and efficiently.
• Assist with equipment, facility, and plant maintenance activities.
• Maintain clean, organized vehicles, warehouses, facilities, and yard areas.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all DOT, OSHA, HazMat, and company safety requirements.
• Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections to promote safe operations.
• Support a culture focused on safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Team Support

• Assist with special projects and seasonal operational needs.
• Participate in training and development opportunities.
• Support teammates across locations and functions as business needs require.

Typical Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

What We're Looking For

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of experience in agriculture, transportation, equipment operation, warehousing, or related industries
• Knowledge of farm equipment and agricultural operations
• Applicator's License preferred but not required
• Ability to operate heavy equipment such as sprayers, applicators, semi‑trucks, and trailers
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and mobile applications
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to adapt, multitask, and work independently in a fast‑paced environment

Required Qualifications

• Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Ability to obtain or possess:
  • HazMat Endorsement.
  • Tanker Endorsement
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Basic mathematical skills and attention to detail
• Willingness to work seasonal agriculture hours, which may include:
  • Early mornings
  • Late evenings
  • Overtime during peak seasons
  • Weekends and holidays as business needs require
