Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a senior operations supervisor to lead a high‑performing safety‑driven team across multiple functions. You will drive operational efficiency, ensure compliance with policies, and manage performance against reliability and financial objectives.

You will recruit and develop talent, coordinate resources, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships while working rotating shifts and on‑call as needed. Strong experience in utility operations is required.

Qualifications

• Five or more years in design, construction, operations, engineering or maintenance of utility systems/power generation plants or related fields.
• Must be able to work from 1PM to 9PM or 3PM to 11PM as needed.
• Demonstrated technical expertise in standards, procedures, and applicable government/environmental regulations.
• Operational knowledge of work and asset management and analytical/reporting applications.
• Effective change leader with demonstrated ability to communicate strategies to a variety of stakeholders.
• Proven results at achieving performance and operational metrics and driving process adherence.
• Demonstrated understanding of utility finance.
• Demonstrated experience working as or with bargaining unit employees.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible safety leadership and actively contribute to the creation and improvement of a strong safety culture.
• Evaluate team performance based on operational efficiency, reliability and quality metrics and drive improvements.
• Provide direct leadership over crew effectiveness, quality and productivity and remove barriers to meet objectives.
• Recruit talent, plan workforce development, set expectations and manage performance.
• Build and maintain internal and external relationships to support Operations and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee compliance with Xcel Energy policies, labor agreements and regulatory standards.
• Maintain knowledge of systems and resources to support teams and stakeholders.
• Rotate shifts and on-call as needed.
