Job summary

Xcel Energy in Colorado is seeking a Senior Operations Leader to supervise a high performing, safety-conscious team across multiple functions. You will drive efficient use of resources, implement policies, and ensure compliant, reliable operations while aligning with corporate goals.

You will recruit and develop talent, manage performance, collaborate with stakeholders, and oversee regulatory compliance. The role requires shift flexibility, strong communication, and experience with utility

Qualifications

• Five or more years in design, construction, operations, engineering or maintenance of utility systems/power generation plants or related fields or equivalent.
• Must be able to work from 1PM to 9PM or 3PM to 11PM as needed.
• Demonstrated technical expertise in standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with asset management, analytics, and reporting applications.
• Proven ability to communicate strategies to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience working with bargaining unit employees.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible safety leadership and foster a strong safety culture with the team.
• Evaluate performance and drive continuous improvement in operations and process adherence.
• Lead crew effectiveness, productivity, and coordinate resources for objectives.
• Recruit, develop, coach, and manage team performance and engagement.
• Build internal and external relationships to support operations and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and documentation of work per policies and labor agreements.
