Job description

RPP is seeking an Operations Supervisor to support daily operations, maintenance, and technical leadership at a utility‑scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) facility in Kitzmiller, MD. This role provides hands‑on technical expertise, oversees field technicians, and supports the Operations Manager in ensuring safe, reliable, and high‑performance site operations.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and support field technicians performing daily maintenance and repair activities
• Troubleshoot complex issues across solar, BESS, SCADA, and BOP systems
• Perform HV switching, substation inspections, and site safety walks
• Review technical drawings and ensure quality execution of work
• Support scheduling, resource allocation, and inventory management
• Drive safety compliance and continuous improvement initiatives
• Serve as backup to the Operations Manager

What You Bring

• 5+ years as a Senior Technician OR 3+ years as a Lead Technician
• Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, or renewable systems
• Experience with solar, BESS, HV substations, or SCADA systems
• Ability to lead, coach, and communicate with field teams
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work at heights
• Strong safety mindset (LOTO, OSHA, NFPA 70E familiarity)

Working Conditions

• 80% field work (outdoors, mechanical environments)
• Ability to lift 35–50 lbs and climb structures as needed

Pay Scale

• $40-$45/hour with some flexibility
• This position has 10% annual bonus potential and is non-exempt (they are eligible for overtime and on‑call pay).
• On‑call pay = 4-hour standby pay (might be updated, but this is current policy)
