Job summary

Akron Children's in Akron, OH, seeks an Operations Supervisor for the Neurodevelopmental Science Center. You will assist the Operations Manager in day-to-day tasks and supervise a team of patient liaisons and unit secretaries.

This role emphasizes leadership, efficient operation, quality care for pediatric patients, budgeting, staff development, and coordinating patient flow with clinical staff.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in healthcare settings is preferred.
• Supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adds value as a key member of management; understands the business, financials, industry, customers and strategy.
• Supervises employees, provides direction, coaches, trains and develops, and manages performance to company goals and expectations.
• Supports team members and promotes efficient operation and quality care for pediatric patients using a team approach.
• Participates in staff development and education for clinically related issues; encourages quality projects in education and improvement plans.
• Develops and maintains processes to support physicians and clinical staff for patient flow, information processing and documentation.
• Prepares, manages, and adheres to department budget to maintain expenditure controls.
• Maintains facilities, equipment, and furnishings in clean, high quality order; arranges repairs as needed.
• Ensures appropriate medical and office supply inventory and procurement for the office.
• Demonstrates knowledge to provide care for physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of patients.
• Conducts annual performance evaluations for team members.
• Other duties as required.
