Qualifications

Job Summary

The ACAA’s Operations Supervisor - AGC will report to the General Aviation Duty Manager and ensure that the conditions and safety of the airport are maintained in compliance with local operational standards and federal regulations.

How the Operations Supervisor - AGC will help:
  • Conduct runway, taxiway, ramp, and perimeter inspections to maintain safe, efficient, and orderly operations in compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor weather conditions and forecasts, taking necessary precautions during inclement weather.
  • Coordinate dissemination of NOTAMs and FICONs via the FAA NOTAM Manager.
  • Assist in supervising airfield activities and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinate with FAA Air Traffic Control on activities affecting air operations.
  • Respond to emergencies and implement disaster procedures to minimize risks.
  • Maintain contact with management during emergencies or serious events.
  • Conduct safety inspections and report issues.
  • Determine airfield closure/opening needs for maintenance, snow removal, or emergencies.
  • Provide fee collection and utility reports to the Finance Department.
  • Administer airport access control and credentialing.
  • Monitor gate activity via CCTV.
  • Report and resolve problems on airport property.
  • Maintain a log of events and inspections.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management or related field; or Associate’s degree with 2-3 years of related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license (must be maintained throughout employment).

Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Knowledge of FAA FAR Parts 139 and 77.
  • Extensive knowledge of FAA airfield radio procedures.
  • Skill in using multiple radio frequencies.
  • Knowledge of snow removal and ice control operations.
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate activities.
  • Problem-solving skills and emergency response capabilities.
  • Effective working relationships with coworkers, agencies, tenants, and the public.
  • Proficiency in digital tools and Microsoft Office.
Physical Demands

Employees must meet physical requirements such as sitting, handling, reaching, talking, standing, walking, climbing, stooping, lifting up to 25 pounds, and clear vision. Must be able to speak and understand English and drive at night.

Conditions

Exposure to noise, equipment, fuels, chemicals, weather conditions, and moving parts. Work involves inside and outside environments, including rotating shifts, holidays, and on-call duties.
