- Summary: The Operations Supervisor oversees employees involved in baking and packaging high-quality bread and rolls, ensuring adherence to Personal Safety and Food Safety commitments. The role requires integrity, respect, proactive planning, and continuous improvement mindset.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include promoting Martin's culture commitments, setting team expectations, managing personnel development, onboarding, planning production, maintaining records, improving production methods, coordinating with other departments, personal development, performing supervisory activities, and enforcing safety and quality regulations.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Direct supervision of production staff, planning and assigning work, training, addressing employee issues, coaching, counseling, and hiring.
- Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, 3-5 years related experience or equivalent, bilingual preferred, experience in baking or manufacturing, operating forklifts, and passing Food Safety HACCP training. Warehouse and Kronos system experience preferred. Travel up to 5%.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Prior bakery/manufacturing experience, equipment operation, adaptability, problem-solving, and relevant communication skills.
- Language and Skills: Ability to understand instructions, interpret safety and operational documents, and communicate effectively.
- Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic operations.
- Reasoning Ability: Applying common sense to instructions and problem-solving.
- Physical Demands: Standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and other physical activities as described.
