Allegion Indianapolis is seeking an Operations Supervisor (1st shift) to lead a team of 40–60 hourly associates in fabrication and warehousing. You will drive daily planning, lean improvements, and KPI tracking to meet production targets while upholding ISO/EHS standards.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of supervisory manufacturing experience, a related Bachelor's degree, and a proven ability to develop people and engage teams. This on-site role offers growth and a strong emphasis on safety.

Qualifications

• Provide leadership and evaluate personnel for efficient operation.
• Coordinate with suppliers and service providers to support shipping functions.

Operations Supervisor (1st Shift)

Within our growing business, the operations supervisor is responsible for engaging their team and providing daily planning, guidance and supervision to direct reports. This leader will supervise fabrication operations on 1st shift at our Indianapolis, IN manufacturing plant. They will drive improvements within the departments while maintaining records of all pertinent documentation. This role may also manage additional manufacturing and warehouse processes.

What You Will Do

• Lead a team of approximately 40 to 60 hourly associates to safely produce product and fill customer orders on time and to specification, while achieving productivity targets.
• Engage the workforce in continuous improvement of key business metrics. Utilize lean manufacturing tools to eliminate waste. Lead Rapid Improvement Events (Kaizen) when applicable. Write, implement, and improve standard work.
• Plan daily production activities in keeping with the company's goals and objectives and align projects to meet requirements.
• Ensure timely planning and production of material to the end customer or upstream production needs.
• Oversee and review the accuracy of production in accordance with all ISO and quality standards.
• Ensure all operations functions are performed safely and in accordance with established EHS procedures.
• Maintain and issue operations performance KPI's.
• Identify and implement cost reduction measures to drive operational efficiency.
• Plan for the development of the staff by organizing training sessions.
• Provide leadership select, develop and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the business.
• Manage and communicate cross functionally within the organization, with suppliers, and service providers to support site-specific shipping functions.

What You Will Need to Succeed

• 5 - 7 years of supervisory experience of a team of similar size in a manufacturing setting
• Previous experience in fabrication highly preferred
• Bachelor's degree in a related field (Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, etc.) required
• Exposure, knowledge, and implementation of Lean Manufacturing principals highly preferred
• Proven ability to lead and develop people
• Proven ability to drive engagement within a team environment
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, peers, managers, and customers
• Ability to work as part of a team
