Job summary

Motherson Sequencing and Assembly Services (MSAS) in Sterling Heights, MI, seeks a shift supervisor to plan workloads, lead teams, and ensure continuous, compliant production across our automotive lines. You will monitor quality, coordinate logistics, and drive safety and Lean improvements.

The role requires 3–5 years in automotive manufacturing, strong 5S/visual management skills, and fluent English. This is a second-shift position (2:00pm–10:00pm EST) working on-site to support production

Qualifications

• 3–5 years automotive industry experience.
• Knowledge of Product and production-line quality in 7 Quality Basics and standardized work.
• JIS production, multivalence processes, and area structuring experience.
• Maintenance and internal logistics, inventory, and stock control knowledge.
• Team management with 5S and visual management expertise.
• Fluent English is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan workloads daily by staffing, equipment, and targets; adjust priorities and coordinate flow.
• Lead and motivate teams; run shift meetings; monitor performance, attendance, and handovers.
• Control processes to SOPs; audit lines, contain issues, and maintain visual and line documentation.
• Provide technical support for setup, troubleshooting, maintenance needs, and equipment validation.
• Ensure product quality; address defects, lead RCA, stop production if needed, and support audits.
• Coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials, components, and packaging.
• Train and certify employees; cross-train, coach skills, and maintain training records.
• Enforce safety, PPE, 5S, and plant policies; address hazards and support emergency response.
• Track and report KPIs; drive Kaizen/Lean, cost reduction, compliance, and continuous improvement.
