Job summary

APX Company, a metal fabrication leader, is seeking a 1st Shift Operations Supervisor to oversee manufacturing on the production line. You will delegate, address quality issues, and ensure safety compliance to deliver efficient, high-quality outputs.

You will lead scheduling, safety training, and KPI tracking while coaching the leadership team to meet targets. This role emphasizes Lean implementation and staffing planning for production targets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years manufacturing experience.
• Proficient in MS Office and ERP software.
• Outstanding Written and Verbal Communication.
• Excellent organization and leadership skills.
• Strong decision-making skills and results-driven approach.
• Lean Principles: Problem Solving, Flow, Standard Work, Kanban, SM.

Responsibilities

• Ensure employees follow all appropriate safety procedures and have all necessary PPE to perform their role in a safe manner.
• Create and maintain production schedules.
• Ensure output meets quality standards.
• Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines.
• Improve and maintain a steady flow of material through operations proactively communicating any schedule shortfalls.
• Drive continuous process improvement to increase safety, quality and operations performance through implementation of Lean Principles.
• Manage operations supervisors to ensure KPI metric boards are maintained.
• Responsible for coaching and development of the operations leadership team.
• Full accountability and ownership of your team's development, trusting employee relations, projects follow up, execution of targets.
• Develop and communicate needs for staffing labor plan adjustments to meet production targets.
• Ensure production floor areas are kept clean and organized.
• Actively involved in the hiring, evaluation, and the coaching processes for department employees.
• Foster a healthy relationship with employees by treating them fairly and with respect.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
