Mativ is seeking an Operations Supervisor for our Neenah, WI paper mill. This role involves supervising 12-hour shift crews, providing technical guidance, and partnering with maintenance to optimize equipment and safety.

You will lead manufacturing teams to meet production and quality targets while upholding our safety culture. Successful candidates typically bring 3–5 years of supervision in manufacturing; paper mill or converting experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of supervision experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Paper mill and manufacturing experience is beneficial.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred; strong computer skills and ability to use office/oracle applications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise hourly crews, assign and direct work, train staff, set expectations, and enforce rules.
• Provide technical support and guidance to paper mill and converting machine crews to meet production and quality goals.
• Communicate critical and routine issues affecting productivity, quality, safety, personnel, and maintenance to leadership and successors.
• Drive employee development and maintain a safe, respectful, and high-performance work environment.
• Audit programs for good housekeeping and ensure compliance with labor policies and the labor agreement.

Operations Supervisor

The Mill Operations Supervisors are responsible for supervising, providing technical support and guidance to paper mill and converting machine crews to meet production and quality goals while emphasizing safe working practices and collaborating with maintenance to optimize equipment. These positions will play a key role in operations leadership through the engagement of manufacturing employees by providing visible support, fostering open communications, coaching and developing manufacturing employees in a safety conscious environment resulting in a benchmark operations culture. This position works a 12 hour shift rotation and will work at our paper mill in Neenah, WI.

• Support and enforce mill safety rules/practices and act as a positive role model for employees.


• Ensure consistent product quality that exceeds customer expectations for value.


• Support asset leaders by providing technical expertise to modify existing mill process and/or add new processes that will improve quality and increase profitability.


• Provide direct shift supervision to hourly crews, including the assignment and direction of work, administration of training, expectation setting, and rule enforcement.


• Effectively communicate day-to-day information on critical and routine issues affecting productivity, quality, safety, personnel, and maintenance to shift successor, along with operations management, as needed.


• Exercise participative leadership that motivates employees to achieve department production/cost requirements.


• Contribute to an environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences and are motivated to improve both their individual and team contributions to achieve desired business results.


• Drive hourly employee development to maximize individual and collective talent levels.


• Accountable for training that will provide qualified, trained and motivated employees.


• Direct and audit effective programs for good housekeeping throughout the mill to ensure a professional atmosphere.


• Administer mill policies and the Labor Agreement properly and consistently.


• Maintain labor relationship through cooperation and team supportive efforts.

Successful candidates will have three to five years of supervision experience in a manufacturing environment. Supervisory experience and a proven track history of successful project management implementation are also desired. Paper Mill and manufacturing experience is beneficial.

• Bachelor's Degree preferred

• Minimum of three years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment - preferably in the papermaking or converting industry
