Job summary

Precision Castparts seeks an Operations Supervisor to lead production planning, organize resources, and drive continuous improvement across the shop floor. You will develop daily schedules, manage staffing, lead daily tier meetings, and partner with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to hit safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.

The role requires 2–5 years of manufacturing leadership, a Lean mindset, and a Bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combo of education and manufacturing leadership experience considered.
  • 2–5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing operations.
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 6S, and Root Cause Corrective Action experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a Safety First culture by enforcing PPE and safety policies.
  • Manage departmental operations to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Throughput, and Productivity targets.
  • Monitor KPIs: OTD, Scrap, Rework, Labor Efficiency, Inventory Accuracy.
  • Develop and manage daily production schedules to meet customer requirements.
  • Maintain staffing and shift schedules based on production needs.
  • Lead daily tier meetings to review performance and priorities.
  • Apply Lean tools (6S, visual controls, standard work) to drive improvements.
  • Sustain standardized processes and visual management across the dept.
  • Manage employee performance, coaching, attendance, and development.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for issues.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Planning, HR.
  • Communicate departmental performance and risks to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for the overall planning, organizing and coordination of Production activities, as well as employee development, and driving Continuous Improvement activities.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Drive a \"Safety First\" culture by enforcing PPE requirements, conducting daily safety activities, and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and Company policies and procedures.
  • Manage departmental operations to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Throughput, and Productivity objectives.
  • Monitor, analyze, and maintain accountability for departmental KPIs, including On-Time Delivery (OTD), Scrap, Rework, Labor Efficiency, and Inventory Accuracy.
  • Develop and manage daily production schedules to support customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing and shift schedules based on production requirements and business needs.
  • Lead daily tier meetings to review performance, communicate priorities, identify constraints, and implement actions necessary to achieve operational targets.
  • Utilize PCC Standard Tools and Lean Manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement, including 6S, waste reduction, productivity improvements, and cost‑saving initiatives.
  • Establish, implement, and sustain standardized processes, procedures, and visual management tools.
  • Manage employee performance, including performance reviews, coaching, disciplinary actions, attendance management, scheduling, and overtime assignments.
  • Lead employee training, cross‑training, coaching, and development to strengthen workforce capability, operational flexibility, and succession readiness.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions related to safety incidents, quality issues, delivery performance, and operational inefficiencies.
  • Partner with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Planning, and Human Resources to resolve operational issues and achieve business objectives.
  • Communicate departmental performance, priorities, risks, and operational updates to management.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles including 6S, Visual Controls, Standard Work, Daily Management Systems, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, coaching, and team‑building skills with the ability to motivate employees and drive accountability.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, peers, managers, and cross‑functional departments.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow work instructions, production schedules, engineering drawings, and company procedures.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills with experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage employee performance, attendance, training, and development.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems for production reporting, labor tracking, scheduling, and inventory transactions preferred.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment while managing multiple priorities and meeting production deadlines.
  • This position supports First Shift operations and requires schedule flexibility, including early start times, extended work hours, weekend support, and off‑shift coverage as business needs dictate.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 2-5 years of leadership experience with a strong technical background in manufacturing operations and product flow.
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 6S, and Root Cause Corrective Action experience preferred.
Level Of Education
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and manufacturing leadership experience will be considered.
