Job summary

Central Transport Flint is seeking a strong logistics leader to oversee outbound operations at the terminal dock. You will manage loading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight, directing up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock staff to meet production schedules.

You will apply independent judgement to optimize loads and ensure safety, quality, and compliance with DOT/OSHA standards. The role emphasizes leadership, communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced transportation environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation or shipping environment.
• Familiar with customs or cross-border transportation.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee outbound operations for a designated section of the terminal dock.
• Manage loading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight sorting.
• Direct up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet production schedules.
• Use independent judgement to build loads based on available labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper loading of carriers by monitoring cube and trailer weight.
• Provide leadership to drivers, dock workers, and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production and KPI achievement.
• Track hours and overtime to maintain efficiency.
• Maintain a safe work environment per DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure adherence to company operating model.
• Support a culture of excellence in product quality for customers.

Shifts:

9:00am - 7:00pm, Monday - Friday

Salary:

$60,000-$75,000 + Bonus

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry)
• Familiar with customs and cross-border transportation
• Strong leadership qualities
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
• High aptitude for technology
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An associate or bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee outbound operations for your designated section of the terminal dock
• This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule.
• Utilizing your independent judgement to build loads based on available labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
