Job summary

Hyatt House LA – University Medical Center, part of Pyramid Global Hospitality, is seeking an Operations Supervisor for the Front Desk. You will lead the front desk team, ensure guest satisfaction, and uphold brand standards in a busy hotel setting.

Ideal candidates have supervisory experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to manage scheduling, training, and service recovery while delivering a welcoming, world‑class guest experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of hotel front office experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience with scheduling, reporting, and operational administration.
  • Excellent guest service, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and computer skills.
  • Proficiency with hotel property management systems.
  • Outgoing, engaging personality with a desire to help others.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

  • Check guests in and ensure proper credit and accurate information.
  • Provide leadership for front office operations and service delivery.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty when assigned.
  • Oversee daily front desk activities and staff scheduling.
  • Train, coach, and discipline front office team members.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction scores and handle escalated concerns.
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping, Maintenance, Sales and other departments.
  • Assist with occupancy management, room inventory, and revenue enhancement.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections and audits.

  • Help guests discover their “Wanderlust” experience
  • Provide exceptional customer service by being engaging and taking sincere interest
  • Check guests in, ensuring proper credit is received, special requests are noted and fulfilled, and accurate information is established
  • Help to resolve problems and “WOW” guests through recovery when things aren’t quite right
  • Provide leadership and direction for all front office operations to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
  • Serve as Manager on Duty when assigned and make operational decisions as necessary
  • Oversee daily front desk activities and ensure compliance with brand standards, policies, and procedures
  • Assist with scheduling, labor management, payroll review, and staffing coverage
  • Train, coach, motivate, counsel, and discipline front office team members
  • Monitor guest satisfaction scores and manage escalated guest concerns and service recovery situations
  • Review operational reports, audits, and financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping, Maintenance, Sales, and other departments to support hotel operations
  • Support inventory management, supply ordering, and expense control initiatives
  • Assist with occupancy management, room inventory controls, and revenue enhancement efforts
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections and operational audits
  • Perform all other duties deemed necessary by management
Qualifications
  • Minimum two (2) years of hotel front office experience preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience required
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities
  • Experience with scheduling, reporting, and operational administration preferred
  • Excellent guest service, communication, and conflict resolution skills
