The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Boise Centre, ensuring that events are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of customer service. This position provides hands-on leadership to operations staff, coordinates event setups and breakdowns, and works closely with internal departments, clients, vendors, and event partners to ensure successful event experiences.

- Supervise and provide direction to Operations staff during event setup, execution, and teardown.
- Coordinate room setups, event transitions, equipment placement, and facility readiness according to event specifications.
- Review event orders and operational plans to ensure all event requirements are understood and properly executed.
- Serve as an on-site operational point of contact for clients, event organizers, vendors, contractors, and other partners.
- Conduct regular inspections of event spaces and facility areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, appearance, and operational readiness.
- Ensure employees follow Boise Centre policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
- Train, coach, and develop Operations staff to promote teamwork, accountability, and excellent customer service.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor staffing levels to ensure operational needs are met.
- Respond quickly and professionally to operational issues, last-minute changes, and client requests.
- Coordinate with departments such as Event Services, Facilities, Security, Housekeeping, and Audio/Visual to support seamless event operations.
- Operate and oversee the proper use of facility equipment, furniture, staging, and other event-related resources.
- Assist with inventory control, equipment maintenance, and reporting of damaged or unsafe equipment.
- Complete required operational reports, checklists, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and on time.
- Help identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service quality, and guest experience.
- Assist with emergency procedures and respond appropriately to safety or facility-related incidents.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience, preferably in hospitality, events, convention centers, facilities, or a related field.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate employees in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively with clients, vendors, coworkers, and members of the public.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and remain calm under pressure.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn operational and event-management systems.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours when required by event schedules.
Preferred
- Experience working in a convention center, hotel, arena, performing arts venue, or other large-scale event facility.
- Experience with event setups, room configurations, staging, equipment, or facility operations.
- Previous experience supervising hourly or event-based staff.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices and emergency procedures.
