A leading company is seeking an Operations Specialist to support logistics and engineering teams. The role involves administrative support, logistics planning, and documentation of additive manufacturing initiatives. Ideal candidates will have experience in a DoD environment and strong communication skills.
The Lockwood Group is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Specialistto support the Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) Logistics Center (ALC). This role will specifically assist in efforts related to logistics planning, supply chain coordination, and the implementation and documentation of additive manufacturing (AM) initiatives. The selected candidate will perform a variety of administrative and operational support functions essential to the mission success of logistics and engineering teams.
Provide high-level administrative support to the AMCOM ALC logistics and AM teams, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and travel arrangements.
Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, presentations, and technical documentation related to logistics operations and additive manufacturing programs.
Track and manage documentation related to AM initiatives including technical data packages (TDPs), part qualification reports, and materials certifications.
Assist with logistics coordination tasks such as supply requisitions, asset tracking, and inventory documentation in Army logistics systems (e.g., GCSS-Army, AESIP).
Schedule and support programmatic and technical meetings, including taking minutes, preparing briefing materials, and tracking action items.
Maintain organized files and ensure compliance with records management procedures, particularly for data related to AM part tracking and performance history.
Support procurement coordination by gathering vendor quotes and facilitating purchase requests related to AM equipment, materials, and parts.
Collaborate with government and contractor personnel to facilitate efficient information flow between logistics, engineering, and program management stakeholders.
Support status reporting for program milestones and AM prototype delivery timelines.
High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
3+ years of administrative or program support experience, preferably within a DoD or Army logistics or engineering environment.
Working knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles; familiarity with Army logistics systems a strong plus.
Interest or exposure to additive manufacturing processes, terminology, and documentation requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with both government and contractor personnel.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Active Secret Clearance
Experience supporting AMCOM, AMC, or other Army acquisition/logistics programs.
Exposure to technical documentation, such as drawings, specifications, or manufacturing process instructions.
Knowledge of DoD acquisition lifecycle and supply chain documentation practices.
Familiarity with additive manufacturing technologies such as FDM, SLS, or DMLS.
