Job summary

Norfolk Iron in Ogden, UT is seeking a warehouse/machine-operator to safely operate forklifts, cranes, and related equipment. You will load/unload materials, move and store items, and build wooden skids per specifications. A tape measure and other measuring tools are used daily; safety gear must be worn.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean work area, following procedures, reporting incidents, and collaborating with teammates. Training and crane certification may be provided or required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in warehouse/manufacturing or machine operation preferred; training possible.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, safety procedures, and instructions.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Ability to use a tape measure and learn other measuring tools.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and dependability.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Warehouse, manufacturing, steel-processing, or machine-operation experience preferred; willing to train the right candidate.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, instructions, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Ability to accurately use a tape measure or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to operate required equipment after completing company-provided training and certification.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and dependability.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Prolonged standing and walking.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and crouching.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely enter and exit forklifts.
  • Ability to work near moving machinery and in areas with continuous loud noise.
