Job summary

Genpro Inc. is seeking an Operations Specialist to handle transactional logistics activities in Rutherford, NJ, working on customer/carrier operations, load planning, pricing/analysis, and tracking.

This role emphasizes data-driven decisions and cross-team collaboration to optimize shipments and profitability. The candidate will participate in performance measurement, communicate effectively with customers and carriers, and support account planning and service expansion.

Responsibilities

• Supports the division’s efforts in growing Account volume and profitability, including planning loads, internal/external brokerage, track & trace, and rate management.
• Optimizes transportation shipments balancing service and cost using the transportation management system.
• Monitors and tracks transportation shipments from inception to final delivery.
• Develops relationships with customers and carriers; maintains proactive communication to ensure capacity and monitor service standards.
• Maintains effective communication with all Genpro departments.
• Analyzes and recommends improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve service.
• Prepares reports and analyzes key performance indicators.
• Influences and makes recommendations to stakeholders through data-driven analysis and summaries.
• Balances customer needs with Genpro’s profitability.
• Assists in maintaining the account plan to ensure sustainability and expansion of services.
• Occasionally works Saturdays and on-call as needed.

This is not a remote position, and candidates must be within commuting distance to the office in Rutherford, NJ.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the transactional part of the logistics cycle. The Operations Specialist will collaborate with the team on all Customer/Carrier Activities, Load Planning, Operations, Pricing/Rating analysis, and tracking.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supports the division’s efforts in growing Account volume and profitability, which includes but is not limited to planning loads, internal/external brokerage, track & trace, and rate management.
• Optimizing transportation shipments for our customers while balancing service and cost using the transportation management system.
• Monitoring and tracking transportation shipments from inception to final delivery.
• Develop relationships and communicate effectively with customers and carriers; establish an ongoing, proactive line of communication to ensure capacity and monitor service standards.
• Develop and maintain effective communication and working relationships with all Genpro departments.
• Analyze and recommend broad-based innovative improvement initiatives for the account with a focus on eliminating root causes of recurring issues, which leads to driving down costs and/or improving service
• Reporting and analyzing key performance indicators.
• Influencing and making recommendations to key stakeholders through data-driven analysis and report summaries
• Balancing the customers’ needs with our company’s profitability.
• Assisting in the maintenance of the account plan to ensure sustainability of our services and expand our solution set.
• Required to work alternating Saturdays and on call as needed.
• Performs other duties as required.
