Job summary

World Group is seeking a motivated Logistics Operations Specialist to join our team across multiple US office locations, including Long Beach and Los Angeles. You will manage order dispatch, carrier coordination, and performance tracking to ensure on-time delivery and exceptional carrier-shipper service.

The role requires strong communication, data analysis in TMS, and a passion for process improvements, with a focus on cost reduction and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 2 years applicable job experience in logistics or related field.
• Demonstrated experience in logistics coordination, analysis and problem solving.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Book and dispatch orders with carriers and prepare them for daily load execution.
• Track load status, manage container milestones and minimize accessorial charges.
• Ensure on-time pickup and delivery by coordinating shippers, carriers and dispatchers.
• Maintain accuracy of TMS data and carrier profiles with updates and events.
• Provide customers with visibility through analysis and reporting.
• Identify optimization opportunities to reduce transit times and costs.

About This Role:

ContainerPort Group, a World Group company, is currently looking for motivated, process-oriented people to join our team as a Logistics Operations Specialist at one of our office locations: Newark, NJ; Long Beach, CA; Savannah, GA; Memphis, TN; Norfolk, VA, Houston, TX or Dallas, TX.

The Logistics Operations Specialist is responsible for the execution of customer’s transportation and drayage activity by scheduling shipments, assigning carriers, and monitoring the execution while ensuring an excellent experience to both shippers and carriers. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage relationships with existing carriers.
• Assist with other pricing and carrier capacity related objectives.
• Book and dispatch orders with carriers, assisting to prepare carriers for daily load execution.
• Track status of loads, manage container milestones, and minimize accessorial charges.
• Ensure customer freight is picked up and delivered on-time, collaborating with shippers, carriers, and dispatchers to manage scheduled pickups and drop-offs.
• Maintain accuracy of all TMS data including keeping accurate records of relevant freight movement activities, entering updates and key events, and maintaining carrier profiles
• Provide customers with visibility through innovative analysis and reporting.
• Leverage operational data to Identify optimization opportunities for customers through decreased transit times and/or reduced cost.
• Manage billing and invoice exceptions as needed. Meeting defined timelines for invoice processing.
• Responsible for managing operational variances, complexities, and constraints between carrier and shipping locations.
• Understand, capture and communicate business issues, challenges and requirements.
• Clearly understand the goals, policies, and procedures of each customer.
• Participate in new customer implementations and solution identification discussions.
• Evaluate solutions and perform analysis of identified options.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics Management, Business Administration, or similar (or 2 years applicable job experience)
• Demonstrated experience in logistics coordination, analysis and problem solving.
• Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
