NBT Bank in Norwich, NY seeks an Operations Specialist to perform complex operational tasks within Operations, processing monetary and non-monetary transactions with accuracy and regulatory awareness.

This role requires applying policy and procedures, interpreting data requests, and maintaining data quality while collaborating with staff and managers to resolve issues and improve processes.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree and 2 years’ experience required. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Related experience preferred.
  • Developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow procedures and interrogate data.
  • Good communication skills (written and oral) required.
  • Accounting and computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process a variety of moderately complex monetary and non-monetary transactions as assigned.
  • Provide guidance to teammates on moderately complex functions.
  • Resolve moderately complex exception items and interact with vendors and project teams.
  • Complete higher level tasks on the team requiring analysis and independent judgement.
  • Assist with training and onboarding of employees.

Pay Range: $19.36 - $25.81NBT Operations Specialists independently performs complex operational tasks within Operations functional areas. Utilize technical expertise in the designated area and resolve escalated issues, supporting customer service. Apply advanced knowledge of policy, procedures, regulations, and law to area of focus ensuring accurate completion of assigned responsibilities. Interpret and complete requests for data input, maintenance, verification, and data collection. This role supports both monetary and non-monetary transactions, which require reconciliation.Utilizing developed analytical and problem-solving skills, provide advice to staff and collaborate with peers, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals. Creates and updates procedures, with supervisor’s approval, while ensuring compliance and following regulations. Activities directly impact customer accounts, bank reporting, and real time information. May prepare reports and furnish information to authorized persons within and external to the bank.Education and Experience:Associates degree and 2 years’ experience required.
