Job summary

NBT Bank offers a twelve‑month training program designed to prepare associates for mid‑level professional roles across the bank. Associates rotate through Branch, Credit, Consumer Lending, Operations, Call Center, Risk and other areas to gain broad banking knowledge and hands‑on experience.

The program emphasizes education, skills development, and practical work experiences to foster intellectual and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; 3.0 cumulative GPA desired.
  • Strong writing, listening & communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence others; problem solving and decision making.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to learn technical aspects of position.

Responsibilities

  • Rotates through branches and departments during training.
  • Performs duties across bank areas including Branch, Credit, Consumer Lending and Operations.
  • Supports Teller, CSR, underwriting and risk-related functions as assigned.
  • Participates in classroom instruction and on‑the‑job assignments.

Pay Range: $25.48 - $33.98Prepare associates to assume mid-level professional roles inside NBT post the twelve month training process. Associates’ preparation will be achieved through education, skills development (training) and actual work experiences providing both intellectual and skill growth. Performs assigned duties, responsibilities, and studies throughout the bank as required through the training program. Become familiar with the operations and procedures in each of the departments training is provided and temporary work assignments are assigned. Incumbents must rotate sequentially throughout the company on a specified training program. Areas of focus may vary but are likely to include Branch experience, Credit, Business Banking, Retail Collections, Operations, Consumer Lending and other related areas.Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related degree required3.0 cumulative GPA desiredPrior work and volunteer experience desiredSkills and Abilities:Strong writing, listening & communication skills are necessary.Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, customer relations and relationship-building skills required.Ability to lead and influence others.Problem solvingdecision making skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
