Job summary

SPM, LLC in Birmingham, AL seeks an Operations Specialist to support consistency and performance across a portfolio of communities. Travel is required across assigned properties, from leasing activity to resident account management.

You will audit files for Tax Credit, HUD, Section 8 and conventional programs, partner with on-site managers on training and processes, and help NSPIRE readiness and inspections while identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions.

About the Role

SPM, LLC is looking for an Operations Specialist to support consistency and performance across a portfolio of communities. This role is built for someone who thrives on variety — one week you're auditing files at a Tax Credit property, the next you're helping a new Community Manager get their arms around move-in season. If you know property operations inside and out and want to use that knowledge across multiple sites instead of just one, this is your next step.

What You'll Do

• Travel to assigned communities to support day-to-day operations, from leasing activity to resident account management
• Conduct file audits and self-audits to confirm compliance with program requirements (Tax Credit, HUD, Section 8, and Conventional as applicable)
• Partner with Community Managers and Assistant Managers on training, process consistency, and problem-solving

What You Bring

• Prior experience in multifamily property management (Community Manager or Assistant Manager background preferred)
• Working knowledge of Affordable Housing programs (Tax Credit, HUD, Section 8) and/or Conventional operations
• Comfort with property management software platforms
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail — you catch what others miss
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly across the assigned portfolio
• A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach to working with on-site teams
