Job summary

ERock! is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead safe, reliable shift operations across modular natural gas generation assets in a 24/7 environment.

You will supervise operators and technicians, monitor performance, and coordinate maintenance with CMMS tools to keep the plant running smoothly. The ideal candidate has 5–10 years in power generation or industrial operations, 3–5 years of supervisory experience, and strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills for high-pressure

Position Overview

The Operations Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Manager and is responsible for leading safe, reliable, and efficient shift operations across modular natural gas generation assets and balance-of-plant equipment. The Operations Supervisor provides front-line leadership for plant operations in a 24/7 environment. This role oversees rotational shift execution, equipment performance, operating discipline, maintenance coordination, and communication with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings hands-on power generation or industrial operations experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to make sound decisions in time-sensitive operating conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Shift Leadership: Direct daily operations, monitor control systems, coordinate shift handoffs, and provide leadership for operators and technicians supporting modular natural gas generators and balance-of-plant equipment. This position requires a rotational shift schedule.
  • Reliability & Performance: Monitor plant performance through software-based and automated grid-control systems; identify, elevate, and troubleshoot mechanical or electrical anomalies as needed.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Support run-hour-based preventive and corrective maintenance workflows using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), ensuring work is prioritized and documented appropriately.
  • Safety & Compliance: Promote a strong safety culture and enforce environmental, health, and safety requirements, including compliance with applicable state and federal operating permits.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary on-site operational lead during assigned shifts or off-hours, coordinating with plant management, utility partners, client representatives, and maintenance teams.
Requirements
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
  • Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience in power generation, gas plant operations, industrial plant operations, utilities, or mission-critical electrical/mechanical environments.
  • Leadership: 3 to 5 years of experience supervising teams, operators, or technicians in a 24/7 shift-based operational environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of industrial electrical distribution, reciprocating internal combustion engines or modular generators, automated control systems, and plant operating procedures.
  • Systems & Tools: Proficiency with digital operations software, CMMS platforms, control-room data, and technical documentation.
  • Decision-Making: Ability to interpret technical information, respond to operational issues, and make safe, effective decisions under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across operations, maintenance, management, utilities, and customer-facing stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance, operational discipline, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to lead by example in fast-paced, high-reliability operating environments.
  • Comfort working rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, or off-hours as required by plant operations.
