Job summary

Labcorp is seeking an Operations Scientist - I to support bioanalytical sample prep, data recording, and collaborative project management. The role follows a typical day shift, Monday through Friday, with emphasis on accurate documentation and adherence to GLP-like practices.

The candidate will work across multiple projects, handling routine and non-routine tasks, maintaining equipment, and communicating with project teams to meet timelines while ensuring quality and safety in a fast-paced lab

Qualifications

  • High school diploma with 2+ years of laboratory experience.
  • Experience using laboratory equipment (balances, pipettes, centrifuges).
  • Familiar with analytical instrumentation (gas, liquids or solids).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct bioanalytical sample preparations.
  • Document work and maintain study documentation and laboratory records.
  • Communicate with project managers, lead scientists, and supervisor on projects daily/weekly.
  • Order consumables for projects as needed.
  • Plan assigned workload on a daily basis and effectively schedule multiple assignments.
  • Provide detailed sample analysis and inventory updates to project managers and lead scientists to ensure projects meet agreed upon timelines.
  • Set up, operate and perform routine and non-routine maintenance on general equipment.
  • Attend and participate in project meetings.
  • Support process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory work environment.
  • Participate in client visits as needed.

Job Description

Operations Scientist - I

Work Schedule - Mon - Fri (Day Shift)

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct bioanalytical sample preparations
  • Document work and maintain study documentation and laboratory records.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma with 2 years or more of laboratory experience
  • Experience using laboratory equipment (e.g., balances, pipettes, centrifuges
  • Experience with analytical instrumentation (for gas, liquids or solids)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science/Arts (BS/BA) degree in chemistry, biology 2 years or more experience working in a laboratory setting (e.g. balances, pipettes, centrifuges etc.)
  • GLP Documentation experience
  • Computer Experience (e.g., Word, Excel) or LIMS
Additional Job Standards
  • Experience working multiple projects in various stages at the same time
  • Ability to handle a fast paced environment
  • Organized and detailed communication
  • Able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience working in a variety of study types, analysis procedures and methodology projects
