Job summary

Amrize is seeking an Inspection Technician to perform regular inspections of critical safety and operational equipment across the facility. You will inspect fire safety equipment, ladders, fall protection, and rigging gear, and maintain meticulous inspection logs to ensure regulatory compliance and a safe work environment.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of relevant experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to work at heights in an industrial setting.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of inspection or safety-related work experience.
• Travel 0–10% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect fire safety equipment and safety-critical systems.
• Conduct routine inspections of fire pumps and extinguishers.
• Inspect ladders, fall protection, handrails, and rigging equipment.
• Maintain logs and documentation of inspections.
• Report defects and safety concerns promptly.
• Promote safety culture and adhere to PPE protocols.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Inspection Technician to perform regular inspections on critical safety and operational equipment across our facility. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH:

• Fire Safety Equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections of fire suppression pumps.
• Perform monthly fire extinguisher inspections.
• Coordinate and oversee annual fire extinguisher inspections with certified vendors.
• Facility Safety Inspections.
• Inspect ladders for structural integrity and compliance.
• Perform ancor point and fall protection equipment inspections.
• Conduct handrail, stairway, and walkway safety inspections.
• Rigging & Lifting Equipment.
• Inspect hoists, lifts, slings,and rigging equipment for wear, damage and compliance.
• Perform inspections and maintenanc checks on man lifts, skid steers, and forklifts.
• Complete and maintain logbook entries for all equipment and inspections.
• Emergency & Health Equipment.
• Inspect AED units and ensure that they are fully operational.
• Perform regular checks on emergency eyewash stations.
• Documentation and Reporting.
• Accurately record all inspection findings.
• Report defect and safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain inspection logs and ensure all documentation is up to date and accessible.
• Other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent or 3 years of equivalent experience.
• Field of Study Preferred: Prior experience in equipment of safety inspections, maintenance or related field.
• Required Work Experience: 1 - 3 years required experience.
• Travel Requirements: 0 - 10%

Additional Requirements:

• Knowledge of MSHA standards ans safety regulations is plus.
• Comfortable working at heights and in an industrial environment.
• Ability to identify safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.
• Comfortable working in varied environmental conditions (indoor/outdoor, hot/cold).
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and climb ladders throughout the workday.
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
