Job summary

Amrize is seeking a detail-oriented Inspection Technician at Ravena Cement Plant NY to perform regular safety and equipment inspections across our facility. You will help maintain regulatory compliance and ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 1–3 years in safety inspections or related field, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; SAP experience preferred.

  • 1–3 years of work experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect fire suppression pumps and perform monthly extinguisher inspections.
  • Coordinate annual extinguisher inspections with certified vendors.
  • Inspect anchor points and fall protection equipment.
  • Inspect handrails, ladders, stairs, and walkways.
  • Inspect hoists, lifts, slings, and rigging equipment.
  • Inspect man lifts, skid steers, and forklifts.
  • Complete and maintain logbook entries for all equipment and inspections.
  • Report safety concerns promptly.

Operational Safety Support Specialist

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Inspection Technician to perform regular inspectionson critical safety and operational equipment across our facility. The successful candidate will play a vital rolein maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and ensuring a safe working environment for allpersonnel.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Conduct routine inspections of fire suppression pumps and perform monthly fire extinguisher inspections Provide H&S expertise and support to site management and supervisors for the management of H&S
  • Coordinate and oversee annual fire extinguisher inspections with certified vendors
  • Perform anchor point and fall protection equipment inspections
  • Conduct handrail, ladders, stairway, and walkway safety inspections
  • Inspect hoists, lifts, slings, and rigging equipment for wear, damage and compliance
  • Perform inspections and maintenance checks on man lifts, skid steers, and forklifts
  • Complete and maintain logbook entries for all equipment and inspections
  • Inspect AED units and ensure that they are fully operational and perform regular checks on emergencyeyewash stations
  • Report defect and safety concerns promptly
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Maintain and accurately record inspection logs and ensure all documentation is up to date and accessible
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: High school diploma or equivalent or 3 years of equivalent experience
Field of Study Preferred: Prior experience in equipment of safety inspections, maintenance or related field.
Required Work Experience: 1 - 3 years required experience
Required Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel, Word and PowerPoint. SAP experience preferred.
Travel Requirements:0-10%

Additional Requirements
  • Knowledge of MSHA standards and safety regulations is plus
  • Comfortable working at heights and in an industrial environment
  • Ability to identify safety hazards and recommend corrective actions
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping
  • Comfortable working in varied environmental conditions (indoor/outdoor, hot/cold)
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend and climb ladders throughout the workday.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE") , including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
