Job summary

Tetra Tech AMT is seeking an Industrial Engineer with Operations Research expertise to support an FAA project in Washington, DC. The role focuses on building and evaluating quantitative models to optimize the National Airspace System and deconfliction planning.

You will collaborate with FAA stakeholders, collect data, and translate complex analyses into strategic recommendations, with a 40-hour schedule that may shift to 24x7 as needed.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering or related field with focus on OR.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in Operations Research analysis or engineering.
• Experience translating complex data into actionable recommendations for FAA or air-traffic contexts.
• Knowledge of data collection and modeling for government or FAA missions is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply OR to optimize NAS deconfliction planning and airflow.
• Collaborate with FAA stakeholders to obtain data for modeling.
• Develop quantitative OR models to evaluate scenarios achieving lower fuel burn and shorter block times.
• Document lessons learned and process improvements for FAA projects.
• Prepare post-event analysis criteria and data expectations.
