Operations Research Analyst / Data Scientist (Remote)

Lensa, a leading career site, is seeking a qualified Operations Research Analyst / Data Scientist for its client, GovCIO. This role involves supporting database development, data configuration, analytics, and reporting activities at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The position is fully remote.

Responsibilities

1. Manage data effectively to enable complex analytics across systems like Oracle, Databricks, AWS, and ServiceNow.
2. Align data with analytic tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Qlik Dashboards.
3. Address client needs and challenges; perform gap analysis and recommend solutions within data systems.
4. Conduct trade-off analyses to select optimal tools and methodologies for data requests.
5. Create project artifacts ensuring compliance and quality standards.
6. Assess project and business process effectiveness using source data.
7. Collaborate with team members to analyze requirement changes and recommend solutions.
8. Enhance end-user visibility through dashboard creation and metric dissemination.
9. Translate complex issues into clear insights for mission leadership using advanced analytics.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5+ years of relevant experience (or 3+ years with a master's degree)
• 2+ years in data exploration, cleaning, visualization, and analytics
• 2+ years with data visualization tools like Power BI or Qlik
