Job summary

KBR in Virginia near the Pentagon seeks a US Space Force Operational Requirements Analyst to support CSRO and the Directorate of Space Requirements (S5R). The role centers on Joint Capabilities Integration, JROC participation, and developing space requirements for DoD programs.

You will synthesize data for capability development, brief senior leadership, and assist with digital requirements models. A TS/SCI clearance, a Bachelor's degree, and 10+ years in defense space domains are required.

Key Responsibilities

KBR is seeking a US Space Force (USSF) Operational Requirements Analyst.


The Operational Requirements Analyst will support the USSF Headquarters Staff, office of the Chief of Strategy and Resourcing (CSRO), Directorate of Space Requirements (S5R). The USSF is a military service that organizes, trains, and equips space forces in order to protect U.S. and allied interests in space and to provide space capabilities to the joint force. USSF responsibilities include developing Guardians, acquiring military space systems, maturing the military doctrine for space power, and organizing space forces to present to our Combatant Commands. The Directorate of Requirements is responsible for developing and integrating Joint Space Requirements for the DoD.


The Candidate Will


  • Interface and perform duties to support the Service integration with the Joint Capabilities Integration process (JCI).

  • Participate in the Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC) process, to include attending Functional and Joint Capabilities Boards (FCB/JCB) as the USSF representative.

  • Review, staff and assess capability development products such as Combatant Command Derived Requirements (CRDs), Mission Area Requirements Documents (MARDs), Rapid Prototyping Requirements Documents (RPRD), and System Requirements Documents (SRD)

  • Advise senior leadership in planning, developing, and coordinating capabilities development process actions with the CSRO

  • Synthesize data analytics to assess and provide feedback on the capability development artifacts for each program within your requirements branch

  • Aid in creation of digital requirements models


Work Environment


  • Location: On-site, Pentagon, Applicant should be available to work as early as 7:30 AM standard

  • Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20% to NCR region

  • Working Hours: Standard


Qualifications

Required


  • Demonstrated understanding of Space enterprise to include DoD requirements, acquisition, and budgeting processes and applicable Defense Space guidance and policy.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, lead and execute requirements projects and out-brief results to senior leadership.

  • Knowledge of the DoD Requirements and Capability Development processes --Joint Capabilities Integration (JCI) and the Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC).

  • Experience supporting Service HQ or DoD Agency or IC staffs.

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent, plus 10+ yrs. applicable experience in Service, COCOM, and/or Joint Staff

  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance


Desired


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace or STEM field. Degree in Operational Research a major plus

  • 12+ years experience in an operations, engineering, scientific, analysis, policy or planning field related to Defense Space

  • HQ AF/SAF staff experience within the past 3 years

  • Experience editing Joint Requirements documentation

  • Experience with space system Acquisitions, the Space Force and Pentagon

  • Experience with staffing tools such as: Task Management Tool (TMT), Knowledge Management/Decision Support (KM/DS)

  • Experience with Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Process Improvement.

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills

  • Applicant should be well versed in Microsoft Office software, Adobe Acrobat, and Sharepoint

  • Familiar with AI utilization for reports, forms, and other administrative documentation.


Scheduled Weekly Hours

40hrs


Basic Compensation

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.


For Virginia, the compensation will be $160,000K-$180,000K.


Additional Compensation

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
