Job summary

Athene offers an internship designed to turn ideas into meaningful analyses for customers and the industry. You will collaborate with a team to develop operational reports and dashboards using Tableau, TIMBR, and Business Objects while learning AI-enabled reporting capabilities.

You will gain hands-on experience in data analysis, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with opportunities for professional development, networking, and community involvement.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in business, finance, accounting, data analytics, MIS, IT, or related field.
• Strong analytical and data accuracy focus.
• Experience with Excel and PowerPoint; exposure to SQL/Tableau is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create, update, and validate recurring operational reports and dashboards.
• Gather and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for operational improvement.
• Perform data-quality reviews and support ad hoc reporting requests.
• Partner with reporting analysts and business teams to understand processes and requirements.
• Maintain documentation for reports, processes, data sources, and deliverables.
• Complete an analytical project and present findings to team members and leadership.

Internships will run from mid-May to early August. Interviews and hiring decisions expect to be completed prior to mid-November, with some being completed as early as late September. Qualified candidates must be enrolled at an accredited college or university for Fall term 2027.

Key Deliverables:

• Create, update, and validate recurring operational reports and dashboards using Tableau, TIMBR, Business Objects, and other reporting tools.
• Gather and analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for operational improvement.
• Perform data-quality reviews and support ad hoc requests to ensure reporting is accurate, complete, and reliable.
• Partner with reporting analysts and business teams to understand processes, reporting needs, and business requirements.
• Maintain clear documentation for reports, processes, data sources, and project deliverables.
• Complete an assigned analytical project and present findings and recommendations to team members and leadership.

What You Need to Bring:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills with close attention to data accuracy.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; exposure to SQL, Tableau, or other data-visualization tools is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present information and insights.
• Ability to organize priorities, meet deadlines, adapt to changing needs, and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
• Curious and proactive, with a willingness to learn new tools and processes, explore AI-enabled solutions, ask questions, and take ownership of assigned work.

Development Opportunities

Gain hands-on experience in operational reporting, business intelligence, data analysis, and data-driven decision-making. Build technical skills in Excel, Tableau, SQL, data validation, visualization, and emerging AI-enabled reporting capabilities. Develop an understanding of insurance operations, business processes, performance metrics, and how reporting supports business outcomes. Strengthen communication, documentation, project-management, and presentation skills through meaningful project work. Partner with experienced analysts, operational leaders, and cross-functional teams while building professional relationships across Athene.
