Job summary

The City of New York seeks an Assistant Commissioner for Operations to oversee NYC Parks daily operations across the five boroughs, including Fleet. The role is based at Arsenal, Manhattan and leads projects, analyses data, and coordinates with multiple divisions and city partners to enhance service delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
• High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
• Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in 1 above.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations across the five boroughs and Fleet to improve daily operations.
• Manage year-round and seasonal initiatives, keeping projects on schedule.
• Represent Parks in meetings with City colleagues and external partners.
• Coordinate, analyze data, and prepare presentations and reports.
• Act as a liaison with Maintenance & Operations, Fleet, Citywide Services, Forestry, Innovation and Performance Management, Information Technology & Telecommunications and other Parks' divisions, city agencies and key agency partners.
