Job summary

CMC Group, Inc. is seeking a highly organized CME Operations Project Manager to drive operational projects from planning through implementation, partnering with manufacturing, warehousing, supply chain, quality, engineering, IT and other stakeholders.

Reporting to the EVP of Operations, you will define scope, schedules and budgets, maintain visibility of priorities, track risks, and ensure projects deliver improvements in safety, quality and capacity.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management, or related field.
  • Two or more years of project coordination or project management experience in manufacturing, packaging, warehousing, supply chain, engineering, or operations environment.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional projects, capital initiatives, process improvements, or operational change is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages CME operations projects from concept through implementation, stabilization, and closeout.
  • Defines project scope, objectives, deliverables, business value, ownership, timing, resources, budgets, and success measures.
  • Maintains the CME operations project portfolio with priorities, schedules, milestones, and risks.
  • Develops and maintains project plans, action trackers, meeting notes, dashboards, and status reports.
  • Leads cross-functional project meetings, confirms commitments and due dates, and ensures deliverables.
  • Coordinates projects across manufacturing, warehousing, supply chain, quality, engineering, IT, safety, commercial teams and suppliers.
  • Monitors performance against schedule, budget, scope; recommends corrective actions when needed.
  • Identifies risks early and escalates issues through CME Operations leadership.
  • Supports capital equipment, facility, process improvement, capacity expansion, automation, systems implementation and operational readiness initiatives across CME.
  • Coordinates implementation planning including testing, training, standard work, documentation, communications, and transition to operations.
  • Uses data and metrics to validate project needs and outcomes.
  • Promotes consistent project management practices and continuous improvement of intake, governance, reporting and closeout.

CMC Group, Inc. is seeking a highly organized and collaborative CME Operations Project Manager to help drive key operational projects and strategic initiatives from planning through successful implementation. This role will partner with operations leaders and cross-functional teams to define project scope, timelines, resources, budgets, risks, and success measures while keeping priorities visible and moving work forward. The ideal candidate will bring strong project coordination skills, sound judgment, and the ability to build alignment across manufacturing, warehousing, supply chain, quality, engineering, maintenance, IT, safety, commercial teams, and other stakeholders to deliver measurable improvements in safety, quality, service, cost, productivity, capacity, and operational readiness.

Summary of Position:

The CME Operations Project Manager supports the CME Operations team by coordinating and managing the portfolio of operational projects and strategic initiatives across CME. Reporting to the EVP of Operations, this role works with functional leaders and project stakeholders to establish clear project scope, schedules, ownership, resource requirements, budgets, and success measures; maintain visibility to priorities and dependencies; and drive cross-functional execution through completion. The position provides consistent status reporting, identifies and escalates risks, issues, and decisions, and helps ensure CME projects deliver measurable improvements in safety, quality, service, capacity, cost, productivity, and operational readiness.

Requirements
Essential Duties:
  • Manages assigned CME operations projects from concept and prioritization through implementation, stabilization, and closeout.
  • Partners with the CME Operations team, functional leaders, and project stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, business value, ownership, timing, resource needs, budgets, and success measures.
  • Maintains the consolidated CME operations project portfolio, including priorities, schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, and resource constraints.
  • Develops and maintains practical project plans, action trackers, meeting notes, decision logs, dashboards, and executive status reports.
  • Leads cross-functional project meetings, confirms commitments and due dates, follows up on open actions, and holds project teams accountable for agreed-upon deliverables.
  • Coordinates projects involving manufacturing, warehousing, supply chain, quality, engineering, maintenance, information technology, safety, commercial teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Monitors project performance against schedule, budget, scope, quality, and expected operational benefits; recommends corrective actions when performance is off plan.
  • Identifies project risks, constraints, and competing priorities early; develops mitigation plans and escalates material issues or decisions through the appropriate CME Operations leadership channels.
  • Supports capital equipment, facility, process improvement, capacity expansion, automation, systems implementation, product commercialization, new business start-up initiatives and operational readiness initiatives across CME.
  • Coordinates implementation planning, including testing, training, standard work, documentation, communications, and transition to operational ownership.
  • Uses data and operational metrics to validate project needs, measure outcomes, and confirm that completed initiatives deliver intended results.
  • Promotes consistent project management practices across CME and continuously improves project intake, prioritization, governance, reporting, and closeout processes.
  • Builds productive working relationships, facilitates timely decisions, resolves routine project conflicts, and keeps stakeholders informed of progress and changes.
  • Performs other operations project and initiative responsibilities in support of the CME Operations team as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of at least one of the following: Printing, Packaging, Labeling, Graphics, blending, manufacturing and operations environments, including safety, quality, service, cost, productivity, capacity, and continuous improvement.
  • Working knowledge of project management methods, scheduling, budgeting, resource planning, risk management, change management, and project governance.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, organize competing priorities, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Ability to translate operational needs into clear project requirements, action plans, ownership, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to identify issues, evaluate alternatives, and support decisions.
  • Effective written, verbal, presentation, meeting facilitation, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Proficiency with business applications and project tools used for schedules, action tracking, documentation, collaboration, dashboards, and reporting.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority, build alignment across functions, address conflict constructively, and drive accountability for commitments.
  • Sound judgment regarding when to resolve issues independently and when to elevate risks, resource conflicts, or decisions to leadership.
Training and Experience:
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Two or more years of project coordination or project management experience, preferably in at least one of the following: Printing, Blending, Packaging, Labeling, Graphic, manufacturing, converting, warehousing, supply chain, engineering, or another operations environment.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional projects, capital initiatives, process improvements, implementations, or operational change is preferred.
