Job description

The OPM Product Launch Director is responsible for leading the OPM (Operations Project Management) department overseeing global strategic operations for growing segments within the Power Tools business. The ideal candidate is a leader with proven big‑picture strategic vision, problem‑solving, and change‑management experience.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, including scope, milestones, deliverables, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Lead project reviews with executive leadership.
  • Own the launch budget, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting.
  • Allocate resources effectively across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Oversee plant readiness activities such as equipment installation, process validation, workforce training, and documentation.
  • Ensure manufacturing sites are fully prepared for product introduction or transfer.
  • Coordinate with site leadership to resolve operational bottlenecks and ensure smooth ramp‑up.
  • Determine optimal manufacturing footprint and capability to support long‑term category growth with differentiated needs.
  • Work cross‑functionally to ensure product categories have a sustainable and scalable sourcing strategy.
  • Consistently visualize the entire scope of a project with minimal guidance.
  • Communicate, both verbally and written, to ensure all groups are working toward timely project completion.
  • Regularly present project status to various levels of the organization.
  • Effectively frame and elevate business risks and opportunities to senior leadership.
  • Converge solutions, options, and plans for leadership discussion within the required timeframe.
  • Maintain high sense of urgency and deliver information promptly.
  • Remain extremely organized and detail‑oriented while keeping a strategic cross‑functional mindset.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or equivalent years of directly related experience in Operations roles.
  • Master’s degree in business Operations Management is preferred.
  • Graduate studies preferred in business areas such as Project Management, Finance, or Organizational Studies.
  • Formal project management training preferred.
  • Proven experience successfully managing medium to high‑complexity projects.
  • Minimum +10 years of experience in project management of operations or manufacturing.
  • Proven experience with operations financial analysis and models (e.g., Standard Costing, CapEx).
  • Operations experience with NPD, sourcing, forecasting, and inventory planning is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills in an executive setting.
  • Ability to establish rapport and credibility with senior leaders.
  • Strong problem‑identification and resolution skills.
  • Results‑driven and deadline‑oriented; able to manage projects to aggressive schedules.
  • Ability to handle fast‑paced, agile culture and adapt to constant change and competing priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with international work, factories, and teams.
  • Periodic travel (domestic and international) may be required up to 50%.
  • Advanced English required.
