Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking an entry-to-mid-level Planning professional to coordinate daily production scheduling, materials, and inventory data for fiber optic assembly. This role sits between production, purchasing, and engineering to prevent delays and keep builds on track.

The ideal candidate has 1–3+ years in manufacturing planning, familiarity with fiber optic components, and proficiency in MS Excel. Epicor Kinetic, SAP, or Odoo experience is a plus, as is JIT and MRP awareness.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years in production planning or related roles in manufacturing.
• Familiarity with fiber optic components; hands-on splicing not required.
• Proficient in MS Excel; strong organization and cross‑department communication.
• Experience with Epicor Kinetic, SAP, or Odoo and MRP concepts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily/weekly production schedules and track work orders.
• Monitor materials and inventory; follow up on deliveries and stage kits for upcoming builds.
• Manage work orders, POs, routings, and BOM accuracy in ERP (Epicor Kinetic).
• Collaborate with purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing in daily planning meetings.

Job description

This entry-to-mid-level planning role coordinates production scheduling, materials, and inventory data for fiber optic assembly operations. Positioned between production, purchasing, and engineering, the role relies on basic fiber optics product knowledge to maintain accurate schedules and prevent build delays.

Core Responsibilities

• Production Scheduling: Maintain daily/weekly schedules, sequence jobs with production leads, track work order statuses, and flag schedule risks like material shortages or capacity bottlenecks.
• Materials & Inventory: Monitor open purchase orders for components (cable, connectors, splicing consumables), follow up on late deliveries, support cycle counts, and stage kits for upcoming builds.
• ERP & Data Maintenance: Manage work orders, POs, routings, and BOM accuracy in Epicor Kinetic, while running routine planning and inventory reports.
• Cross-Functional Support: Partner with purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing teams during daily planning meetings to align build priorities.

Key Qualifications

• Experience: 1–3+ years in production planning, scheduling, materials coordination, or purchasing support within a manufacturing environment.
• Technical Knowledge: Working familiarity with fiber optic components and materials (hands-on splicing is not required).
• Skills: Proficient in MS Excel, organizational capabilities, and effective cross-departmental communication.
• Preferred: Hands-on experience with Epicor Kinetic (or other ERP systems like SAP/Odoo), MRP concepts, or cable/telecom assembly environments.
