Job summary

The Hershey Company in Stuarts Draft, VA seeks a Generalist Operations Planner to translate demand into accurate production and material plans, ensuring service, inventory, and financial objectives are met in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

You will develop detailed schedules, manage MRP parameters, analyze capacity and material flow, and collaborate with Operations, Procurement, Logistics and suppliers to identify constraints and implement improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing, production planning, scheduling, inventory management, materials management, or a related field.
• Experience with SAP or a similar ERP platform and advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required.
• JDA experience is a plus. The 3+ year experience requirement aligns with Associate Manager level expectations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and communicate detailed production schedules for assigned operations in support of the master production schedule and longer-term planning strategy.
• Manage MRP parameters and material requirements to support timely purchasing and delivery while achieving inventory targets.
• Analyze inventory performance, material availability, capacity, and shared resources; recommend actions that improve service, cost, productivity, and material flow.
• Maintain accurate bills of material and routing data while supporting the successful execution of engineering and product changes.
• Own defined planning processes and small projects, monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure commitments are delivered on time.
• Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, Logistics, suppliers, and other stakeholders to identify constraints, mitigate risks, and communicate recommended solutions.
• Apply structured problem-solving techniques to resolve non-routine planning challenges and drive continuous improvement.
