Job summary

Stewart & Stevenson is seeking a Manufacturing Production Planner I to develop and manage production schedules at our Houston facility. The role emphasizes optimizing equipment utilization and on-time fulfillment while collaborating with production leaders, sales, and project management.

The candidate will communicate schedules clearly, monitor capacity and shortages, and support continuous improvement in production planning and execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with minor in supply chain management or GED, 4–10 years related experience.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP or Oracle) required.
• APICS certification and membership preferred.
• MRP experience required.

Responsibilities

• Build and update production schedules to ensure continuous plant operations.
• Review shortage reports to ensure materials are properly planned.
• Monitor inventory levels, work-in-progress, and production capacity.
• Plan and modify daily production schedules and coordinate with leaders to analyze root causes.
