Job summary

DCS Corp in Sterling Heights, Michigan is seeking an Assistant Product Manager to handle the planning and coordination of program management activities for Army weapon system acquisitions.

The ideal candidate must be a U.S. citizen, possess significant experience in managing complex DoD engineering programs, and have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Responsibilities include managing project schedules and documentation and acting as the key interface for various stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED plus 16 years of experience, an Associate degree plus 10 years, or a bachelor's degree with 8 years' experience.
  • At least 6 years of experience in complex DoD engineering or technical programs.
  • Experience working on military acquisition programs preferred.

Job description

Assistant Product Manager: Will conduct detailed planning, coordination, and synchronization of program management activities for the assigned organization(s). The applicant shall act as primary interface between organization leadership and higher-level leaders, to include Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology) (ASA (ALT)) leaders and staff, and other stakeholder organizations. The applicant shall manage the assigned program calendars; coordinate and schedule meetings; record and distribute meeting notes and action items to meeting attendees; provide the status of action items, reports, and other assigned tasks; and electronically store the material from these engagements.

The applicant shall coordinate documentation and obtain required signatures. The applicant shall coordinate, revise, copy, and distribute materials for meetings, briefings, and conferences.

Essential Job Functions
  • Perform duties as (or "serve as") an Assistant Product Manager within an Army weapon system acquisition program.
  • Manage cost, schedule, and performance of assigned projects.
Required Skills
  • Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance.
  • Experience with supporting government/DoD Property Management, Work Directives, Production Request, and/or Change Management.
  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED plus 16 years of experience, an Associate degree plus 10 years or a bachelor’s degree 8 yrs, or Master's degree 6 years’ experience in a specialized field; Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Management, Logistics, Quality, Production, or other related technical field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the last 10 years supporting the management of complex DoD engineering or technical programs, and experience working on military acquisition programs (preferably ground combat vehicle systems experience).
Desired Skills
  • Knowledge or experience with parts and obsolescence management desired.
  • Knowledge of configuration management a plus.
  • Experience in the preparation and tracking of Program Documentation IAW DoDI 5000.02.
  • Acceptable experience is that which reflects a substantial role in all the required areas: acquisition program documentation; acquisition program baseline development and management; development of supportability strategies and plans; development of technology development strategies and plans.
  • Experience with DoDI 5000.02, Army Regulation 70-1, DA Pamphlet 70-3; Microsoft Excel; Army Knowledge Center.
